Jackass quote of the day

“If it wasn’t for race mixing, there’d be no video girls. Me and most of my friends like mutts a lot. Yeah, in the hood they call ‘em mutts.” - Kanye West

Right. So according to Mr. West, my ancestors came together for the sole purpose of creating my sister, cousins and myself to appear in music videos. Oh, and we're dogs. The worst kind of dogs too , the ones whose dubious interbreeding has rendered them valueless. This man markets himself as the thinking man's rapper but he's nothing but an idiot. An idiot that looks like Rocky from Rocky and Bullwinkle (see photo). If I looked like that I'd make a concerted effort to make sure I didn't come across sounding like a fool everytime I opened my mouth. Apparently, he doesn't think this is a good idea. The only time I came even remotely close to liking Kanye was when he sang Jesus Walks. I hated the line, "like Kathy Lee needed Regis that's how I need Jesus". Huh? You're comparing a relationship between two talk show hosts with your relationship with God?! But okay. And I liked Golddigga, even though I REALLY, REALLY hate the use of the "n" word but the radio version didn't have it so ok. Then he sampled one of the greatest songs of all time, "Diamonds are forever" and my dislike for him was sealed and it's only gotten worse after that. I mean, really, where the hell does this dumb ass get off making a statement like that? Who does he think he is, with his adenoid suffering ass?! And his fiancee is MIXED. How could he make a statement like that about his future wife, even if he had no qualms about making that statement about millions of other women. Man, I'd be pissed off if it wasn't for the fact that in my book, Kanye ranks right next to P. Shitty and I expect him to say any assness that pops into that cavernous head of his. And if you have the same rank as Poofy, then that eh no ranks at all.

I reallly need to talk to John John about this friendship he has with this clown. I mean, John's mixed, I'm mixed. He can't be making those comments and then play he coming in my house and asking me if I make pelau today. What? He hand finny?! He kyah cook?

P.S. Sorry for the sloppy photoshop work. My mouse is giving trouble and I'm in a hurry.

O. M. freakin G. but Kanye's a pc incorrect fool. He's a notorious misogynist. I do admit that I burned (not bought! ha ha) his latest CD bc I like the music & some of his lyrics are too too good or hysterical. I know HH, it's a real love/hate thing for me w some hip hoppers, I don't go for the gangsta crap & woman bashing, but damn when the music's got a good beat!

Kanye talks way more than a man with his intelligence should. I used to like his music a lot but then I got disillusioned with him whenever he would spout off.

I liked him more because I wasn't into the whole Gangsta rap thing and I thought that what he did was new. But listening to his lyrics apart from Jesus walks taught me that he was doing little more than cross-marketing.

I take offense at that comment for two reasons? Is that all mixed race women are good for? Dancing in rap videos?

Secondly, is he saying that "pure race" black women are not attractive enough to dance in videos?

You have to forgive him for this kind of thing. Obviously the man is borderline retarded and obviously he hates his own negroid features.

Why do black people hate themselves like this?

Yes Mani, "cross-marketing is a good way to describe it"
I htink one of the sad things about this is that those women make theyself to be like that. allyuh never see that "video girl" show on vh1 or wherever? They do whatever it take to be in a video and plenty of them like it! I not justifying the comment, I certainly dont think it was ethical to say, but just that I dont think it came out of nowhere.

yuh gotta be kidding? did he really say that??? i was never a fan but...

I think Mani said it best my asking why it is black people hate themselves like this. It is true!

H. Lewis Smith, thanks for visiting and for the info. I will certainly check that book out since I agree with the sentiments expressed on your blog. I've never understood how some people of black ancestry could willingly address themselves by a word that, for centuries, was - and still is - the most hated and degrading word ever.

Hottie Hottie said...

And Mani, yes. Imagine that. The be all and end all of women's existence is to prove themselves attractive enough to be (mostly) degraded in a music video. It's a statement that reveals volumes about not only how Kanye views women, but how he views his own self.

"Why do black people hate themselves like this?"

Please, let's not take the self denegrating statements of one man apply to an entire race. If we do that then we're no better than him in that we too are making generalising statements.

it is a very sad thing for him to have said but did he realy mean it?
i mean i see him as an intelligent rapper but is this quote taken in the right context, could he not have been commenting on the music video culture ESPECIALLY BLACK MUSIC VIDEOS that seem to only choose mixed race women as if the beauty of Black women is obsolete?
I mean West mouth and ego does get him in all kind of trouble (did you see the MTV Europe awards when he eh get best video?) but i would hope to think the brother is smarter and deeper than that...I hope .

I've been thinking this fellas a fool for quite a while now. He claims to be a concious blah blah....frankly I see him as perpertrating racisim in reverse...

So Jon Jon been mixing with fools since i left him eh. I get's its the depression....neva u mind he's going to get over it soon, he really 'bounces' back well, that one... -All smiles-CP

Hmmm, his comment meaning he hates his black features? I don't know...
I think in his warped way, he was trying to big up mixed gyrls, but idiotically put down black girls.

Hey, you beat me! Great minds think alike, Hottie girl. This will be part of my post for tomorrow...and Kanye really needs to STFU.

Wow. This really pisses you off huh? Yeah, I expected better from him too. But then again, a lot of video vixens are mixed.

re the n word, what do y'all think of Michael Richard's tirade? I blab about it on my blog, come on over...

Oswyn said...

Karabana, what's your blog's address? Every time I click on the link in your profile, I get an error message saying the page was not found.

Hottie, how yuh going gyul?

True colors always shine through, don't they? This goes for Kanye and Michael Richards. Richards is the second actor I really liked who has disappointed me by revealing their racist feelings (Mel Gibson being the other). And they both try to deny being a racist. It had to come from somewhere! How unfortunate.

I apologize HH 4 the shameless self promotion.

That has had to be one of the dumbest comments of all time. Ok, so, I'm mixed, so I should belong in a video, as well as my two mixed cousins who are pursuing masters degrees. They belong in videos. He's an ass. And I can't believe he's a Kappa Alpha Psi. He must've pledged when they were all about "Pretty boys like pretty girls" phase so I guess he's stuck with that. Why some rap artists continue to embarras black people is beyond me.

Hottie Hottie said...

Mas assasin, how do you explain the mutt part then?

Afrobella, LOL! Will check out your post.

Mani, boy, pressuh. But I good.

Katrice, I agree, true colours always shine through in the end.

Karabana, promote away girl. All ah wee is one family.

Shandy, girl, is like they kyah help it.

*better to shut up and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt*

Never was a big Kanye fan. High school dropout wasn't a catchy title in my opinon. Most video vixens are so painted, primped and weaved its possible to get the exact same look from a black, white, latino or mixed girl.

Moron.

i dont know what the "mutt" ment but they call them "video vixens" too, in 2Pacs day it was "video hoes" in hip hop culture most women are called "bitches" whatever the breed and this is used in positive and negative terms(so dey say) so i cant realy explain mutt it might be the latest industry term it is bad for any woman to be described inn these ways but thats rap today ....
