Jessica Biel is my mentor

You know how long I planning a "I started the gym" post?! Is only cause Saucy did hers that I got my ass motivated enough to do it. So I started the gym last week. And I feel so good; I don't know what took me so long. I mean, I was working out at home but there's no comparison. Yes, the “cup o’ coin” weights was fun and so too the fact that I could check my email in between sets, but it can’t compare to the very sensual pleasures to be had in the gym. No, not that kind of pleasure – so doh go dey.

Let me give you an example. My gym is part of a sporting complex and the entire ground floor consists of swimming pools. The rowing machines – finally, a cardio exercise I absolutely love – are against the wall closest to the pools. So while I’m rowing I’m also smelling the water. Between that and the sounds that the machine makes while in you’re using it, it’s a very close simulation to actually being on the water. It’s fabulous.

Also, I’ve already made eye contact with a male hottie, but we’ve only been in the gym the same time twice so it’s too early to report. But I ketch him scoping out the goods a few times well and when he was on the seated row machine I went and did hamstring curls – the machine was conveniently located in front of him. I was quite satisfied when I heard the weights fly back from his hands when I bent over. Hehehehehehehe. Woman bad eh!

Oh yes. To explain the headline. I want my body to look just like Jessica Biel’s. She is HOT! If I could chip through the streets of Port of Spain with my body looking so I’d be very, very happy. Not so much the lower legs and ankles though but you get the idea. And especially the bamcee. Oh boy! When I told the instructor that I wanted to gain weight her jaw nearly dragged on the floor. “But women don’t ever want to gain weight!” she told me. When I told her I wanted to put on muscle she nearly passed out. She then proceeded to give me her own damn routine, which, I realize, is geared towards making me lose weight. At 5ft 7.5 and approximately 130 lbs I don’t think I need to be losing any weight. I’m barely in the safe BMI zone. So to ass with her routine and I’m doing my own thing. I’ve been working out long enough to know what to do anyway. Crazy ass woman. So anyway, will keep you guys posted. Wish me and the bamcee good luck!

Girl, is all about stamina and firming up the goodies. I defintely don't want to lose weight. But in a country where size 0 is considered an ideal, well, I must seem very strange indeed!

Our stats are about the same HH, aint it funny all an instructor could give you was a routine to lose weight? Sheesh, come on, she should know better, building muscle & toning is a goal many women have. Size 0 is an ideal in London? Cos I know you don't mean T'dad. When did size 0 start anyway? I noticed it yrs ago & figured ok, it's the petite Asian girls & preteens that are 0. But when 00 came out, p l e a s e that's too much!!!!! So now you got those 0 girls losing weight to get into a 00!... they're trying to not exist, to dissapear!

You go gyrl w row machine guy! hee hee...!

Good choice on the Jessica Biel bod as your goal. My S.O. had a MAXIM ("for the articles") a few months ago where they featured her as the sexiest woman, or some similar title. I swear, that woman was wicked hot!!! And, I'm not really the type to explore any alternative lifestyle, so my appreciation is genuine.

So, the weight you want to gain is just for bumcee? Or general all-over padding (which should come in handy for wining)? I used to have a Paris Hilton bottom, but after a few years of ballet and squeezing those glutes, I've become quite "rosy."

BTW, way to go on the graduation from coin bag to actual gymnasium. I, much to my chagrin, will be stuck in improv mode for quite some time again because I just cyah seem to find the time.

Please keep us appraised of the gymmage and the male hotties.

Karabana - is a goal up here in London. I'm actually a bit disturbed that she would watch me and want to make me lose weight. I mean, I think I'm quite slim. At my height I fit into a size 8 up here, which, I think is a US 3 or 5 (for jeans, smaller on top). And that 00 is disturbing. Posh Spice is a 0 and apparently her aim is now for a 00! What is wrong with these people?! Also, she is short, a fact these young girls don't consider when they're trying to emulate her.

CB - I want to gain weight all over. Funny enough, my arms still remain pretty buff even though I haven't been gymming for a while but the legs need building back up. It's strange because I walk alot and climb stairs but hardly even lift anything heavy. Must be the shopping! LOL!

After I came off meat my legs, bamcee and breasts were the first to go. The belly still there watching meh and laughing. Any ideas as to how to gain weight but not fat?

To gain muscle, which shows up on the scale as "weight", lots of lifting weights & cardio like running will do it.

I don't know what kinda people you seeing in london hottie. I thought the avg uk size is 10-14. If you sizing 8's girl you real good, you shouldn't be worried, you lucky.
Jessica B is very muscly. I like toned, but not when the muscles visible and yuh not even flexing them.
Maybe you could ask gym hottie for some advice lol

icahwait* - I meant that being superslim is considered ideal here, even though there's an obesity problem. And thanks for the gym hottie advice. I just might try it!

I used to do crew in school (competitive rowing) and let me tell you it is the best all over workout I ever got. Every muscle in your body hurts when you're done. Doh mind I almost get throw out the boat a few times when them oars kick back. Unfortunately I quit when they change practice from 5pm to 5am!! Oh hells no!

5 a.m.? Dey mad in dey ass?! But this rowing this is the best though! I don't mind this exercise at all and I absolutely HATE cardio.

Saucy, you stay dey and feel so. I was in UWI with some girls who were always dieting and trying to fit into smaller and smaller clothes. Remember, we does follow everything from the US.

The Gap is the only place I've seen below a size 8/6 so far. I wouldn't know if I saw a 6. But when I saw a 4. I was like whoa! then the 2, then 0. Not funny at all

Off the top of my head Topshop has those sizes. And they were the first to introduce the equivalent to the US 00. But I have a friend who is 5ft1 and wears between a 8 and a 6 and and I've been shopping with her so I know other stores have them. She takes size 4 sometimes - size 4 is REALLY tiny. I think it's a US 00, but I'm not sure. My friend is really tiny and sometimes the size 4 in certain stores are too small. If she had a complex she would think she was getting big and lose weight. It's upsetting how the sizes don't equate in all stores. Because I'm an 8 in some stores abd sometimes, I even go up to a twelve in another! It's like the industry is designed to make women paranoid about their size. If I were a size 14 and had to take a 16 or 18 in another store I'd think I was putting on weight and start dieting, when the truth was simply that the sizes were fluctuating.

I'm what trini man is call a smallee. So this whole size 0 thing suits me fine. Why do caribbean men like the so called meat-on-the-bones anyway? I say appreciate us in all shapes and sizes! I aint hitting the gym to turn out lookin hard like a bodybuilder eh eh. Carnival tuesday all ah we go look bloated anyways. Goodluck to yuh bumcee and jessica is hot btw!

for a guy its a bit different isn't it, they don't really appear to care that much.
I was just doing my school run, and the conversation turned to weight, this is 2 days running.
Hottie, don't do the topshop thing so much anymore, depending on what I wearing at the mo is what store I'll shop in. I imagine places like Jane Norman, Oasis, Morgan etc proper 'townie' shops do below size 8 on the regular. And I know what you saying about different store sizing, I'mm about 12 in the 'townie' shops but in other normal ones I could do 10. I cool with that. I need hips and ass to shape me. And the thing is when I do try on 12's in other shops the waist real big and out. so for pants I struggle sometimes, but tops I could do anystore 8-10. You know they ain't accomadating for the ass up here

Hottie, the UK 4 would be the equivalent of a US 0. I saw this stick figure with NOOOOOOOOOOO bottom trying on a size 0 and she looked absolutely horrible. The jeans was still baggy! And there was this nasty loose pouch where her bottom was supposed to fill it. So, please my beautiful goddesses, doh get tie up with the dieting and starvation so much that you turn into that scary woman.

There was write up in UK Cosmo about different stores having different sizes. It included a nifty conversion/translation table. Would look for it tonight when I get home and if anyone's interested I can post the info for the UK-based shoppers.
